My journey with Mazadat began during an important growth and expansion phase of the product, where the objective was not only to deliver design solutions, but to establish a sustainable and scalable design foundation capable of supporting long-term business goals across the Middle East and Africa.
Strategy & Execution
From the early stages, I took ownership of the design direction to ensure alignment, speed, and quality while the design team was gradually being formed. This included:
Leading end-to-end design for the Mobile Application, with a strong focus on high-impact user journeys
Enhancing clarity, usability, and trust across core flows
Working closely with product and engineering teams to ensure design decisions translated smoothly into production
One of the key strategic initiatives was building a custom Design System from scratch, fully aligned with Mazadat’s product vision and business needs:
A mobile-first Design System, designed without templates
Scalable and reusable components built around real product scenarios
Extended to cover Web Applications and the Corporate Website
Enabled visual consistency, faster delivery, and long-term scalability
Design and development collaboration was driven by:
Continuous alignment with engineering teams
Clear prioritization based on user and business value
Iterative refinement to maintain quality at scale
Team Building & Leadership
Alongside product delivery, I focused on building and developing the design team:
Structured recruitment aligned with product growth
Mentorship, guidance, and hands-on leadership
Establishing a shared design language and strong design culture
Continuous quality review and improvement
In addition, I launched a design internship initiative aimed at nurturing junior talent and supporting long-term team growth.
Results & Impact
This approach resulted in measurable and sustainable outcomes:
Scaling the platform to over 1 million users
A unified and consistent user experience across mobile and web
Faster development cycles through reusable design components

Leadership Reflection
Over more than three and a half years, my role evolved from hands-on execution to strategic design leadership, balancing delivery, people development, and cross-functional alignment.
This experience reinforced my belief that impactful design leadership is built on systems, people, process, and long-term vision.
